Dr. Erson Religioso III is a fellowship-trained physical therapist with 25 years of experience, specializing in TMD, headaches, spinal care, runners, gymnasts, and chronic pain. As the owner of EDGE Rehab and Sport Science, a cash-based practice in Buffalo, NY, Dr. Religioso is committed to empowering patients with education, self-assessment, and treatment strategies that require minimal visits.
A pioneer in PT blogging and social media, he has also developed a range of manual therapy, mobility, fitness, strength, and rehab products, as well as pain science education materials at EDGE Mobility System.
Offering pro bono cases for those affiliated with his church and a sliding scale of fees for those unable to afford his services, Dr. Religioso is dedicated to providing care to those in need. He enjoys running, hiking, rock climbing with his children, weightlifting, outdoor activities, traveling, and camping in an RV.
Dr. Religioso has been a faculty member at D’Youville College, Daemen College, and SUNY Buffalo, and a former fellowship mentor in three different programs, including Daemen College, Buffalo, NY, Evidence in Motion, and McKenzie Institute. He has taught professionals worldwide through live and online seminars and his four-month mastery program, and has founded the Modern Manual Therapy Blog and The Eclectic Approach.
Dr. Religioso popularized PT Podcasts with Therapy Insiders and Untold Physio Stories, and launched EDGE Mobility System, offering high-quality, value-priced PT, health, and fitness products. Having taught in Chile and the Philippines, Dr. Religioso has adapted his teaching style to consider cultural differences in patient perceptions and diagnoses.
Staying current with the latest developments and research in his field, Dr. Religioso engages with other PTs on social media, reads 3-4 research articles a month, and takes continuing education courses. He is a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, and regularly teaches live seminars for small clinics or large hospitals/groups. Holding a BS, MS, and Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Dr. Religioso is certified in Manual Therapy, McKenzie Method, Craniofacial (TMJ and Headaches), Nutritional Physical Therapy, Modern Strength Training (Blood Flow Restriction Therapy/Training), and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
