Best Memorial Day Mattress Sales of 2024
The Amerisleep’s AS3 is discounted by $450 this Memorial Day, as are all of their mattresses. Considering Amerisleep’s stellar risk-free trial offer, what have you got to lose?
There are great discounts out there no matter what type of bed you might be looking for. But out of all the excellent options to choose from, Amerisleep’s AS3 is our favorite of the bunch.
Standout features include excellent mattress reviews (nearly 7,000 verified customer reviews rate it 4.7 out of 5 stars), plant-based foams, established brand, and exceptional return policies.
Plus, Amerisleep has started the discount as part of its early Memorial Day sales. So you can get the jump on it now and avoid the rush during the weekend.
The top-rated online mattress retailer offers a range of top quality memory foam and hybrid mattresses. All of their models have earned highly favorable customer reviews. But the AS3 is the most popular of all.
Designed to appeal to a wide range of sleep styles, it’s a versatile pick that can meet a range of shoppers’ needs.
Here are just a few things that make this bed worth checking out:
- Proprietary high-performance memory foam. It’s designed to offer maximum support and pressure point relief which makes it a good mattress for back pain relief.
- Just-right firmness level. It’s a solid option for all sleep styles and positions.
- Specialized cooling layer. The AS3 is more breathable than traditional foams.
- Zero motion transfer. You won’t get disturbed if your partner gets up or changes positions during the night.
- Plant-based foam and eco-friendly manufacturing practices. They’re better for people—and the environment.
- Generous 100-day risk-free trial. You get more than three months to try the AS3 in the comfort of your own home. If you decide it’s not for you after breaking the bed in, you can return it at no cost.
Even better? Amerisleep’s offering major discounts on their adjustable bed package this Memorial Day. Their bed package includes an adjustable bed base and a mattress (hybrid or memory foam) of your choice, as well as free mattress returns.
Other bed frames can also be bundled on, if you prefer something more classic than an adjustable bed.
However, investing in an adjustable bed is a great way to upgrade your night’s sleep. And we like Amerisleep’s Adjustable Bed+ because it contains all the bells and whistles.
In addition to head and foot articulation, this base comes with wireless, programmable remotes, under-bed lighting, USB ports for convenient charging, and best of all, full-body wave massagers.
With this base, you can find the most comfortable position for sleep and drift off while the built-in massagers ease muscle tension. Plus, you can program this base to wake you up each morning with a gentle massage—there isn’t any better way to start your day!
If a memory foam mattress isn’t right for you, you can also score the AS3 in a hybrid. Amerisleep recently released hybrid counterparts for their AS3 and AS5 models—now you can enjoy the pressure relief of memory foam with the bounce of innerspring coils.
Their hybrids are priced slightly higher than their memory foam mattresses, but this Memorial Day, you can score an AS3 Hybrid for $450 off!
AMERISLEEP AS3
- Contains plant-based foam, eco-friendly shoppers and keeps your bed cold
- Suitable for most body types and sleeping positions
- Provides a balance of comfort and support for couples
The Zoma Hybrid Mattress is another excellent option to consider when buying a new bed this Memorial Day.
The Zoma Hybrid was designed to help athletes and those with an active lifestyle sleep deeper and recover faster—so it’s well-equipped to upgrade most anybody’s night’s sleep. The mattress contains pressure-relieving gel memory foam and pocketed coils.
This Memorial Day you can score the Zoma Hybrid starting at $599. Other hybrid mattresses can cost over $1,000, but not so with the Zoma Hybrid. You can fully enjoy this high-quality mattress at a lower price tag.
The Zoma Hybrid has a medium feel, perfect for most sleepers—never feeling too soft or too firm. This surface cushions the shoulders and hips, but keeps your body resting on top of the mattress without a deep sink. You won’t have to worry about feeling stuck inside the bed.
The gel memory foam not only keeps you cool, but molds to the body for pressure relief. Underneath, the transition foam prevents your body from sinking too deeply.
The pocketed coils consistently support the body for a good night’s sleep. The coils also improve edge support, so there’s less danger of rolling off the mattress. You’ll like the stable, long-lasting support of pocketed coils.
The Zoma Hybrid mattress comes with a 100-night sleep trial and a 10- year warranty, covering sagging greater than an inch. You can return the mattress after breaking it in for a full refund.
ZOMA HYBRID
- Medium mattress works well for most sleeping styles
- Cooling memory foam provide cushioning aaround the body

Rounding out the top three, consider the Vaya Mattress this Memorial Day. The Vaya is a budget-friendly all-foam mattress and is discounted even further this holiday weekend. For those shopping on a tight budget, the Vaya is right up your alley.
The Vaya is an excellent option for almost any sleeper. It features pressure-relieving foams to offer both cushioning comfort and responsive support for side, back, stomach, and combination sleeping alike. The foam in the Vaya Mattress is soft and contouring, but it’s also bouncy enough to keep you lifted and prevent sagging.
The Vaya has a soft-to-the-touch, lightweight cover and two layers of foam: 3 inches of Vaya Foam and 9 inches of durable base foam. When you lay on the Vaya, the top layer of Vaya foam contours to your body to relieve pressure and offer instant comfort.
The base layer below evenly distributes your weight and extends the mattress’s lifespan. The foams in the Vaya Mattress are also CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning they’re free of harmful chemicals and safe for all sleepers.

Another top-rated Amerisleep mattress to consider this Memorial Day is the AS5 Hybrid, a soft but bouncy mattress tailored to side, back, and combination sleepers.
We really love this AS5 Hybrid, though, because it’s a soft bed that can actually work for plus-side sleepers. Many people over 230 pounds struggle to find a soft, but supportive bed—but the AS5 Hybrid fits that bill perfectly.
The AS5 Hybrid is designed to keep you lifted in a healthy position while still alleviating pressure and offering a “cloud-like” sleep experience. It features cushioning Bio-Pur® and targeted pocketed coils, but it also features another foam layer for added compression and support—Active Flex.
Active Flex is a latex-like layer directly below Bio-Pur®, it keeps you lifted in a neutral position while offering added comfort for your shoulders and hips.
The pocketed coils in this bed are arranged to provide full-body support, allowing for deeper compression and contouring for added pressure relief.
Amerisleep also adds a thin layer of sturdy poly-foam at the base of their bed to improve durability. But, like all Amerisleep mattresses, the AS5 Hybrid comes with a lengthy 20-year warranty protecting you from sags and indentations.
You can nab the AS5 Hybrid at a $450 discount this Memorial Day, with free shipping that will bring it straight to your front door.

This tailored approach ensures that customers can find the perfect mattress to suit their sleep style and preferences.
One standout model from the Helix lineup is the Midnight Luxe. This mattress is an upgraded version of the classic Helix Midnight mattress model and features a medium feel that is versatile and accommodating for a wide range of sleepers.
The Midnight Luxe also has additional features, such as targeted cushioning in the shoulder area for pressure relief and a cool, compressive pillow top. The responsive medium feel of the Midnight Luxe is complemented by the pillow top’s cool, cushioned layer and the underlying support that keeps a side sleeper’s spine aligned.
The Helix Midnight Luxe mattress comes with a Tencel fabric cover, made from eucalyptus fibers, which promotes eco-friendly breathability. For those who desire additional cooling capabilities, a special GlacioTex Cooling Cover can be added at an extra cost. This optional cover provides further temperature regulation for a more comfortable sleep experience.
The mattress’s construction has a top layer of high-grade polyfoam, followed by a layer of copper gel-infused memory foam. Then a layer of responsive transition. All of these foam layers rest on top of hundreds of pocketed coils, zoned into three sections with edge support along the sides.

It also boasts eco-friendly certifications such as Greenguard Gold and GOTS. The Birch Natural Mattress has a medium-firm feel, making it suitable for different types of sleepers, from back to side and stomach.
This mattress also provides pressure relief to sensitive areas such as the shoulders and hips, thanks to the combination of latex and wool, which contour to the body without causing discomfort. The natural latex provides a bouncy feel that prevents sinking, while the coils offer support, making it easy to move and adjust positions.
Plus, the Birch Natural Mattress promotes good spinal alignment, which is essential for preventing chronic pain. The supportive coils and latex layers are carefully designed to keep the spine in a neutral position, ensuring that sleepers wake up feeling refreshed and pain-free.

The wool layer is followed by Talalay latex which gives a supportive yet bouncy feel that contours to the body, and it is also hypoallergenic and resistant to mold and dust mites.

The thickest mattress on our recommendation list is the aptly named Nolah Evolution 15, with quite a number of layers and technologies packed into this mattress to create a luxury sleep experience.
Not only is the Nolah Evolution 15 incredibly luxurious, but it’s also one of the best cooling mattresses on the market. The cover fabric is an innovative ArcticTex™ fabric, followed by two inches of cooling foam in a quilted Euro top that draws excess heat away, with a surrounding AirBreath™ gusset bordering.
Then comes the bed’s primary comfort layer, AirFoamICE™. It molds to the body for full pressure relief, while graphite infusions keep it feeling cool to the touch. Two underlying foam layers create resilient buoyancy and a smooth transition.
The main support core is pocketed coils with reinforced edge support, resting on a foundation of recycled plant fibers for eco-friendly durability. The pocketed coils are divided into three sections for specialized support, with extra back support to minimize morning aches and pains.
The mattress’s base is a sturdy fabric with a non-skid backside, along with side handles for easy portability.
The Nolah Evolution 15 includes a 120-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty, along with free shipping. If you want to save more this Memorial Day, you can choose to forgo the sleep trial at checkout for an added discount.

Innerspring mattresses still enjoy quite a lot of popularity, even as other types of beds have risen to prominence. Saatva has designed their mattress, the Saatva Classic, to be an innerspring hybrid, melding elements of a traditional innerspring mattress with more modern features for improved comfort, support, and durability.
The top layer of the Saatva Classic is a 3-inch thick Euro pillow top, covered with an organic cotton cover. This cotton fabric has also been botanically treated with an exclusive compound to create a surface that repels microbes, helping Saatva mattresses stay clean and fresh smelling.
Underneath the cushioning Euro pillow top is a layer of dense memory foam with Lumbar Zone® Technology for that extra bit of back support.
The Saatva Classic’s middle layer is pocketed coils. While these coils do provide support, their primary purpose is to increase the surface’s responsiveness and maximize motion isolation.
The supportive base of this Saatva mattress is hundreds of tempered steel coils for a sturdy structure and a stable surface. The coils also feature plenty of open space for air to slow through and remove heat. Dense foam rails surround the coils to create durable edge support, making it easier to slide out of bed and preventing the mattress from prematurely sagging.
The Saatva Classic mattress is backed by a lengthy year-long sleep trial and a lifetime warranty. Saatva not only delivers their mattresses for free but will arrange a setup appointment. As part of their free white glove delivery, shoppers can even have their old mattress and foundation hauled away at no extra cost.
SAATVA CLASSIC
- Cotton cover with antimicrobial barrier over a Euro pillow top
- Memory foam layers features sleep technology for enhanced back support
- Pocketed coils’ bounce bolstered by tempered steel spring base
The GhostBed Luxe has a medium-plush feel, making it marginally softer than the original GhostBed model. This softened feel is excellent for side sleepers and combination sleepers. Petite sleepers may also enjoy the soft yet supportive feel.
Hot sleepers would also benefit from sleeping on the GhostBed Luxe, thanks to its many cooling features. We’ll cover these features as we discuss the bed’s layers.
The mattress is covered with a Ghost Ice fabric, sewn to deliver an instant cool-to-the-touch sensation while feeling soft and supple. An inch of cooling fibers, known as immediate cool burst airflow technology fibers, are woven into the cover to bolster its cooling design.
Underneath the fibers is an inch of gel memory foam, designed to offer a “GhostHug” feeling that relieves pressure points. The fourth layer is the Ghost Ice layer, an exclusive material that reacts to heat and adjusts accordingly to promote coolness. The fifth and final comfort layer is Ghost Memory Foam to ease aches and prevent pressure build-up.
The mattress’s support comes from its transition foam and base foam. The transition layer is Ghost Bounce foam, created to contour like memory foam yet respond to the sleeper like latex. GhostBed describes its Bounce material “as close as you can come to floating without leaving the ground.”
The high-density support foam is 7.5 inches thick and promotes a durable bed.
The GhostBed Luxe comes with free shipping, a 101-night home trial and a 25-year warranty.
GHOSTBED LUXE
- Two-stage cooling technology with specialty fabric, fibers, and foam
- Latex-like Ghost Bounce layer adds responsive contouring

Memory foam mattresses have become one of the popular beds, and one of the top options is the original Bear Mattress. With its combination of innovative foams and cooling features, the Bear Original mattress offers a comfortable and supportive sleeping experience.
The cover of the Bear Original is a breathable cover with optional Celliant® technology, which has been approved by the FDA. This innovative technology converts your body heat into infrared energy that penetrates your body, promoting better circulation and deeper, more restful sleep.
The comfort layer is made with cooling gel memory foam. This layer conforms to your body shape while also dispersing excess heat, ensuring that you don’t overheat while sleeping. The next layer, called Bear Dynamic foam, is designed to be responsive and help prevent you from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
Finally, the original Bear mattress has a high-density foam layer at the base, which provides support and prevents sinkage. This layer is essential for maintaining proper spinal alignment during sleep, which can help prevent chronic pain in the back, neck, and other areas.

- Cooling infusion maintains comfy temperature

What to Know Before You Shop for Memorial Day Mattress Deals
Sales are great, of course. But don’t be fooled when at your local store or online mattress shopping. A low price doesn’t always represent a great value. There are many factors to consider as you navigate this weekend’s mattress sales.
See, retailers will sometimes inflate the original price so they can discount it later. So you end up thinking that the discount is better than it actually is.
A lower price can also come with some unexpected fine print attached to it. You might discover that your deep discount comes with little to no warranty from the mattress manufacturer. A bed’s quality might not be up to snuff. Or the model might only be available in limited quantities and mattress sizes.
All of these things make it important to research and thoroughly compare top mattress brands.
It’s also important to be mindful of return policies when shopping during mattress sales periods. You should be able to try the bed for at least 30 days before deciding whether or not you want to return it. Even during a discount event.
These are just a few of the factors to consider when you go mattress shopping. It’s always worth doing your research before pulling out your credit card. That’s true no matter how tempting the price.
So do your homework and think about what you really want before you make a mattress purchase. A new bed isn’t something to buy on impulse!
Do I Need to Replace My Mattress?
It’s important to replace your mattress when it no longer provides the necessary support and comfort for a good night’s sleep. While it is possible to stretch out the lifespan of a bed with mattress protectors and mattress toppers, it’s best to get a new mattress when you notice it’s just not delivering the comfort and support you need.
There are a few key signs to look out for that indicate it may be time to replace your mattress.
Age
The age of your mattress is a significant factor in determining when to replace it. A typical lifespan for a mattress is around 7-10 years. If your mattress is older than this, it may be time to consider a replacement.
Sagging or Lumps
Over time, a mattress can develop sagging or lumps due to wear and tear. This can cause discomfort and affect the quality of your sleep. If you notice any sagging or lumps on your mattress, it’s a good indication that it needs to be replaced.
Body Aches and Pains
If you are waking up with aches and pains that you didn’t have before, it could be a sign that your mattress is no longer providing the necessary support. As a mattress loses its firmness and support, it can cause discomfort and pain.
Allergies and Asthma
An old mattress can harbor dust mites, allergens, and other particles that can cause respiratory issues. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, it may be time to consider a new mattress.
Restless Sleep
If you are tossing and turning during the night, it could be due to an uncomfortable mattress. A new mattress that suits your sleeping style can improve your sleep quality and help you feel more rested in the morning.
Buying Guide: Tips for Comparing Mattress Discounts and Shopping to Win
Comparing all the numbers and features of select mattress purchases isn’t always easy. But it’s necessary to make sure you end up with a great mattress or a good adjustable bed frame at an equally great price. Keep these tips in mind for successful, stress-free shopping.
Start Shopping Early Mattress Discounts
Feeling pressured to make a decision is never fun. You can avoid buyer’s remorse by getting a handle on the market early. Shop online and in stores now to get an idea of what you like and what “normal” prices are. That way you’ll know what you want—and where to get the best deal—when the holiday weekend rolls around.
Keep Preferences, Needs & Budget in Mind
Don’t let a big markdown blind you. There’s no doubt that Memorial Day weekend is a fantastic time to save on select mattresses. But money isn’t the most important thing here. Your comfort and sleep quality matter most. Not the size of the markdown.
You shouldn’t blow your budget, of course. But it’s also not worth compromising on comfort or firmness just to save some money on a mattress purchase.
The biggest thing that will determine what the right mattress for you is your sleep position. Different sleep positions leave the body pressing down in different ways, so each position needs a different firmness:
- A mattress for side sleeping should offer a soft to medium feel.
- A mattress for back sleeping should have a medium to firm feel.
- A mattress for stomach sleeping should have a firmer feel.
- A mattress for combination sleeping should have a medium to medium firm feel.
Worst case, choosing a mattress with a sleep trial will leave you an easy way to return a bed if it’s not right for you.
Be an educated shopper. Find out how to find the most comfortable mattress for you.
Know the Difference Between Mattress Types
There are four main types of mattresses: memory foam, latex, innerspring, and hybrid. Each type of mattress has its unique features and benefits, catering to different sleep needs and preferences. Choosing the right type of mattress is essential for the best night’s sleep.
Plus, different factors affect quality and value, depending on the type of mattress you’re buying. Here’s a quick rundown of the most important features for each major mattress type.
Memory Foam Mattresses
Memory foam mattresses are known for their contouring ability, which molds to the body’s shape and provides pressure relief. These mattresses also absorb movement, making them ideal for couples who don’t want to disturb each other’s sleep.
Memory foam mattresses come in a range of firmness levels and can retain heat, making them ideal for people who get cold easily. However, there are also options such as gel memory foam mattresses that can work for a hot sleeper.
Latex Mattresses
Latex mattresses are durable, responsive, and offer excellent support. They are ideal for those with allergies, as they are hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites and other allergens. Natural latex mattresses come in different firmness levels, ranging from soft to firm, and provide a bouncy, supportive feel.
While other mattress types can be eco-friendly, a latex bed is what you want if you desire an organic mattress.
Innerspring Mattresses
Innerspring mattresses are the most common type of mattress, known for their firmness, support, and affordability. They consist of a system of metal coils covered by padding and fabric, providing a classic, bouncy feel. Innerspring mattresses come in different firmness levels and offer a range of comfort options.
Hybrid Mattresses
Hybrid mattresses combine the features of both memory foam and innerspring mattresses, offering the best of both worlds. They typically have a layer of memory foam on top of an innerspring system, providing the contouring and pressure relief of memory foam with the support and bounce of innerspring. A luxury hybrid mattress may have multiple foam layers.
Hybrid mattresses come in different firmness levels and are ideal for sleepers who want a combination of support and comfort.
Read Reviews & Compare Retailers
One of the biggest ways the bed world has changed in the past 10 years is the explosion of online brands. Now consumers have dozens of stores and hundreds of pages of reviews at their fingertips. That means no longer having to rely just on a salesperson’s word. (No matter how trustworthy they might seem.)
Check different sources for reviews on beds you’re interested in. Read what people say about things like durability, expectations, service, and other factors. Comfort can be subjective when it comes to what makes a premium mattress. Ratings and overall trends are the most important thing to glean from consumer feedback and reviews of mattress purchases.
Also, do yourself a favor and look at different stores and online brands. You don’t have to be limited to your local shop, and going online might yield deeper savings and a wider range of popular mattresses. All in all, you might find a better fit for your specific needs. Plus, browsing online eliminates the need to spend your time in showrooms.
Take Advantage of Bundles
Many mattress brands aren’t just selling their mattresses alone, with some offering free pillows or included bedding like a mattress protector with the purchase of a mattress. Alternatively, you may be able to bundle on your choice of pillows, bed sheets, and a mattress protector at a significant discount.
There are also some companies offering significant discounts on new mattresses purchased with adjustable beds, an excellent deal that can let shoppers set up a truly customizable bed. Adjustable beds let you raise and lower parts of the mattress to create more comfortable angles than what a flat surface offers. An adjustable bed frame is often a significant investment, so adjustable bed bundles are a good way to save.
That said, it’s also wise to be wary of bundled-on sleep accessories and free gifts as a marketing tactic. While free gifts during mattress sales may seem like a good deal, these free accessories may not be as beneficial as they seem.
Free gifts may be used as a marketing strategy to entice customers to make a purchase they wouldn’t normally make. While the free gift may seem valuable, like two free pillows with a mattress, the actual cost of the item may be relatively low, and the seller may be using it to make a profit.
It’s important to read the fine print and research the product before making a purchase to ensure that the deal is genuinely beneficial. A free mattress protector, free pillows, and other free bedding can all be useful, but they mean little if the mattress isn’t right for you.
Check the Fine Print
As with any big purchase, know what you’re getting into. Warranties should offer a good level of full replacement coverage. (Ten years is standard for most mid-level and higher mattresses). The warranty should also cover impressions of 1 inch or more. Defects deeper than this can lead to pain and support issues.
Return policies are just as important. A new bed takes time to get used to, especially if you’re going with a new type of material. Make sure you have a month or longer to send the bed back if it isn’t the right fit. Also, get the lowdown on any fees you might have to pay to make a return.
If you play your cards right, you could end up with an incredible deal on a new bed. Good sleep is its own reward, of course. But to get it at a great price is even better. And this weekend is one of the best times to buy a mattress.
Other Mattress Sales to Consider
Missed out on Memorial Day deals? Don’t worry, mattress companies roll out plenty of other sales throughout the year that let you save on most mattresses:
- Best MLK Day Mattress Sales
- Best Presidents Day Mattress Sales
- Best Sleep Awareness Week Mattress Sales
- Best 4th of July Mattress Sales
- Best Labor Day Mattress Sales
- Best Columbus Day Mattress Sales
- Best Black Friday Mattress Sales
- Best Cyber Monday Mattress Sales
Plus if you keep an eye out, you’re likely to see mattress coupons and flash sales offered between these sales events. If you need a mattress deal urgently, we suggest doing a little digging on the best online mattresses.
Frequently Asked Questions
When’s the best time to buy a mattress?
There are several mattress sales held throughout the year, and many online brands offer different year-round deals on their products so you can always find a bargain. The best times to buy a mattress are usually long weekends around Memorial Day, Labor Day, and President’s Day. However, you can also find mattress deals during major sale days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Is it better to shop for mattresses in-store or online?
If you’re looking for a wide variety of beds to try before you buy, start in stores like Mattress Firm. If you’re looking for savings, shop online. Online mattress brands usually offer better deals than brick-and-mortar retailers because they don’t have to worry about the costs of operating a storefront—the more money they can save, the more affordable they can price their products.
How much does a good mattress cost?
On average, high-quality queen size mattresses cost between $1,000 to $1,500. Brick and mortar mattress stores and more luxurious brands will charge more for their products, while other brands will charge a little less. We suggest avoiding beds that cost less than $500 for a queen.
Though these beds seem like a great deal (too good to be true, even), they are usually made with poor-quality materials and break down quickly. A cheap mattress like this is quick to wear out, so it’s better to look at options that may cost a little more but are far more likely to last years and years.
What’s the best mattress of 2024?
Many brands claim to offer the “best mattress,” making it rather difficult to determine what the best mattress truly is. Marketing gimmicks aside, the best mattress is one that feels comfortable for your sleep style, promotes healthy spinal alignment, and facilitates better sleep.
Now, this will be different for different sleepers. Some will prefer firmer beds while others like softer, just as some people like beds with coils while others seek out all-foam models.
Keep your sleep needs and personal preferences in mind when comparing beds and you’ll be able to pinpoint the best option for you.
Who offers the best deals on mattresses?
Ninety-nine percent of the time, you can find the best mattress deals online. That’s not to say brick-and-mortar mattress stores don’t offer great deals. Some deals probably even sound better than what online brands advertise.
However, it’s important to note that in-person mattress stores majorly hike up the prices of their products, so the discounts they offer more or less just bring products down back to their original price. Online mattress brands don’t have to inflate their products’ prices because they sell direct to consumers. When online brands offer discounts, you’re usually receiving the lowest prices for that particular product.
Of All the Memorial Day Mattress Deals, Which is the Best?
The answer really depends on the type of bed you want as well as your personal sleep preferences. There’s no one-size-fits-all option that will fit every shopper and every budget so it’s important to research and read mattress reviews.
However, most of our recommendations will provide what one sleeping group or another will need. Especially if you’re not sure where to start your shopping journey. You just might find that you don’t need to look anywhere else.
As you can see, there are lots of great price options out there. If it all still seems overwhelming, don’t worry. We’ve picked out our top choices for different budgets. The picks are based on customer reviews, company websites, and independent review sites. These are some of the best mattresses for the price that we found in our hunt.

I am in the market for a bed that is best for a very bad back and neck ( spondylitis scoliosis and much degenerative) . What is your opinion of the Sleep Number beds and adjustable beds? Many thanks. Would like to take advantage of the good sales this weekend and next!
Stay away!!! I have back problems and am ready to take my sleep number outside and cutting it up with a chainsaw. I’ve only had their bed for 5 years (25yr “warranty”) it has “trench effect” which means it sags. I’m only 140lbs, the mattress slides off the base daily even with gorilla glue mattress gripper I put under the mattress. So only have to push it bank in place once every two days compared to a couple times a day at some points when I was sick for example. To fix both these problems, sleep number wants me to replace the foam, the sidewalks and the coverlet for the base. Worst mattress ever owned, thought the issues were cause of my injuries till I slept on a different mattress that actually supports your back. I think instead getting a glorified air mattress, you should look into other brands and styles of beds. I’m definitely not the only one with these issues. Google them and there’s pages dedicated to the problems associated with it.
Hi Max,
Great question! We haven’t done as much research on Sleep Number as other brands and mattress technologies; however, Sleep Number is popular for allowing customers to customize the firmness of the mattress tailoring the comfort and support specifically to you— which could help with the pain you’re experiencing. We do recommend investing in adjustable beds to improve your rest because they allow you to adjust the angle of your head and feet to find the most comfortable sleep position. Adjustable beds are also great for alleviating pressure points and pain during the night, which is something you may benefit from.
We hope this helps!
In my area for small stores to walk in and try the mattresses I have a Bob Discount Furniture and a Bedder Mattress(just opened within last couple years). Do you know anything about these 2 places? Also I am in the market for a FULL size most of the pricing is for queen. Do you know a good going price for fulls. I know it depends on the brand etc. But a good starting idea?
Hi Joe,
Thank you for the question! Unfortunately, we are unfamiliar with those two places. However, when shopping in-store, it’s best to look for major name brands, such as Simmons and Sealy. Also, we strongly recommend the bed you buy comes with a sleep trial and a 10-year warranty. In our experience, a high-quality full mattress will probably start around $600 but the price can range from retailer to retailer.
I hope this helps!
We’re in the marked for a king adjustable frame and mattress. We like it to have the interspring and something medium to firm. Prefer a walk out of no more than $3500. What’s the best deal you’d suggest? I’m scared of mattress firm bc bioth stores I went to, someone was there to return their mattess and was unhappy with their products. We prefer to shop in store so we can try before we buy. Didn’t realize how hard this can be. Any help is appreciated.
Hi Shaney,
Good question! We’re happy to help. If you prefer to shop in-store and want to avoid Mattress Firm, we recommend shopping with a smaller, perhaps family-owned mattress retailer in your area that offers a sleep trial. Buying a bed with a sleep trial ensures you won’t be stuck with something uncomfortable and gives you more time to test the bed and decide if it’s a fit for you.
Also, consider the Saatva brand. They sell a variety of mattresses, but their innerspring bed, the Saatva, receives good reviews. Though they’re sold only online, they come with a 120-night sleep trial and free white glove delivery.
We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
I am in the market for a king Sized mattress that will only be used about 6 times per years for guests. Do you have an recommendations for someone on a fixed income? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
JOan
Hi Joan,
Thanks for the question!
Two things to consider. First, even though the mattress you are looking for is for guests, is it ever possible you would use it yourself? (Say, for example, your current mattress starts to underperform and cause you back pain.) If so, it might be worth it to spend a little more on the guest bed. Second, when it comes to bed that is going to get lightly used, we would recommend going softer than usual. Reason being? A firmer bed that isn’t getting consistent use will stay too firm for a long time.
For this kind of mattress, a budget-friendly innerspring mattress with a pillow-top is something worth considering.
Hope this helps!
