I just complete six sessions with the Zerona laser and the only inches I lost were from my wallet. This $3,000 scam needs to be exposed and the public warned. Whether the treatment doesn’t work for 5% of the people or 45% of the people who undergo this rip-off scam of a procedure has yet to be determined.
Like a lot of other people I saw an advertisement in my local paper then searched the web to learn more about this weight loss, body contouring laser treatment. I now realize shows like The Doctors, Rachael Ray and even local news programs are not so much information programs as much as an entertainment venue and that they were just acting like giddy school girls and company shrews for the Zerona laser without ever looking into whether this works for everyone like they promoted for fat loss and weight loss.
After my first three sessions I was getting depressed and disappointed because I didn’t see any results and my clothes were all fitting just the same. I told this to the person who was performing the treatments and she blamed me and asked what I was doing wrong. It seems to me the only thing she really knew about the laser treatments was what the Zerona salesperson told her.
I felt like there was something wrong with me as it seems like everyone else was getting remarkable results. I went to the My Zerona web site and filled out their contact us form and asked whether they knew of any cases where their laser treatment didn’t work. Guess what. I never heard from them.
People in this body contouring field can get a Zerona laser at no cost. I’m not privy to the contract deals, but it seems to me that if they are going to give away a machine that costs several hundred thousand dollars they are probably getting a good percentage of the fee that’s being charged.
A major red flag is that there isn’t any test you can undergo before hand to determine whether the Zerona laser will work or not on you other than if your credit card goes through. And if the Zerona laser doesn’t work, you also won’t get a dime back.
I’ve lost sleep because I feel I was taken by this Zerona laser rip-off scam and a fool for the wishful thinking that there was finally a non invasive procedure for fat loss and weight loss.
Did the Zerona laser not work for you? Leave your comment below. I feel that for every person that got nothing for their money I hope this post should put a dint in the Zerona bottom line by stopping a thousand others from being taken by this Zerona laser scam.
I’m off to scarf down a large pizza and a six pack.
What you you think about Zerona? Leave your comment below.
Update: April 18, 2011
To date over 2100 people have read this article. If 2000 people were spared being scammed out of their $3,000 then this post has taken a $6 million bite of this Zerona scam. If you passed on what you read, then the amount is even greater.

I soooooooooooo frustrare ,i spend my time and $$$ with Zerona , and definity this NOT WORK for ,and i dont belive work for no body ,be carefull for me this is a nother SCAM !!!
I am very disappointed and feel so stupid for getting involve in thoses treatments that cost $ $ $ and time consuming! I had 12 treatment (3000$) and 1/2 inches lost in total, so they give me 6 more extra, hoping at the end of the those 6 treatment maybe the 3 inches garanti will appear!!!
I think with that money we better hire a personnal trainer and a dietrician, I am sure the result could be much better!
G
Sorry to here you only lost your money. Too many people are falling for this. For $3K anyone could have ordered food in for six months or more. Let others know that Zeron is to be avoided.
I agree! I spent my hard earned money & on 6 treatments that were a complete FAIL! I'm so disappointed that I wasted money & I know I won't get it back since Zerona company doesn't refund. I wonder if there's anyone putting together a class action suit. DON"T DO IT no matter how desperate you are to lose weight. ! In fact, my doctor altered my measurements to make it look like I lost inches. I measured myself & before & after & mine & her measurements were different! I learned that if it sounds too good to be true, then it isn't true. ZERONA IS A PURE SCAM
Let eveyone know about your experience.
Thanks.
The Zerona Laser worked for me, you can't expect the treatments to work if you don't follow the directions of the doctor. Why would the FDA approval something that does not work and is a scam !!! I lost 6 1/2 inches and am thrilled with the results. Not all types of treatments worked for me in the past ,I never blamed the procedures it's logical that some people do not respond to some fat loss treatments and others do.
The procedure can work for some people, but even after taking the supplements, drinking the water and walking the treatments do not work for a lot of people and there is no way to tell before hand whether it will or will not work for you. If it does, you’re happy, but if it doesn’t you are out a lot of money.
If the company was really behind their product they would 1) respond to consumer complaints and 2) provide a full refund when it doesn’t work. The fact that they won’t do either indicates they are more interested in making money as fast as they can before people wise up and stop spending money on a procedure that seems to be a gamble for the consumer.
Why do you assume that the individuals didn’t follow the instructions of the doctors or nurses? Obviously this treatment doesn’t work for everyone and it is the responsibility of the makers of Zerona to figure out what type of individuals this doesn’t work for so that they don’t waste their hard earned cash. I am 5 feet 6 inch and weigh 118 lbs and would like to lose my belly and love handle baby fat. I want to lose inches not weight so I had 6 treatments of Zerona done. I drank more then recommended of water, I eat extra healthy (I eat healthy regularly anyways), I took the Zerona pills (Curva), I received 2 vitamin B shots (one before my treatment and one after my 3rd treatment, and I alternated with speed walking 3 mile one day and running 3 miles the next. I am an active girl. However my measurements were the same from the beginning & the end.
I don’t assume anyone didn’t follow the instructions given. Zerona just doesn’t work for some people (most?) and there is no way to tell before hand.
Thanks for your story.
Sunny was replying to Kathy, not you.
if the Zerona works for some, it has nothing to do with the actual procedure. They give you pills for weight loss, they tell you DO NOT drink alcohol, eat lots of salad and wear spanx…if you did that alone you would lose inches.Zerona is a scam..and it doesnt take much to get FDA approved. You just need enough people ( paid off) to say it worked. The after pictures everyone is tanned and sucking in their gut! If they said money back guaranteed, they would be out fo business!
Great points. They ask you to walk 40 minutes a day and fill up on tons of water, then they measure you in a dozen differernt places and claim you lost 3 inches. Would anyone notice 1/4 inch off their waist? If people didn’t see noticable results after the first 3 treatments you should get your money back and have the remaining treatments cancelled.
Bingo! I’m glad someone finally figured out why Zerona “works.” I suspected it all along, and it’s true. It’s a total scam and should be outlawed.
It’s just a modern take on a snake oil saleman.
The FDA approves procedures, medicines, and equipment all the time that has to be recalled. Don’t think FDA approval is a sure bet because that is far from true. Besides, if you have enough money you can get anything approved!
So true.
HUGE waste of time and $$. I had 10 treatments and did not loose a single inch. The "doctor" aka chiropractor that I went through, Tom Vamvouris, who owns a Better Bodies clinic in San Ramon, CA was AWFUL!!! So unprofessional and concerned with only how much money he can squeeze out of his clients. I was definitely a dissatisfied customer (concerning I got NO results), and he would not refund my money. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!
A lot of people are being taken by this scam. Thanks for sharing.
When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
I was offered a "low level laser" to try in my practice by the sales person as proof that it works. I then did a split body (just treated half the body) trial on friends and family for 6 weeks and guess what? It didn't work. At Pier Laser Med Spa in Santa Monica, we only employ EVIDENCE BASED treatments. No "Detox Foot Baths" or expensive cellulite treatments.
The first clue that it's a scam would be "extremely effective claims" but without a money-back guarentee. If it is RARE that a treatment doesn't work, a reputable med spa would return your money, as it occurs rarely.
I disagree 100%. Almost no one ever gets any money back. The lasers are leased by the spas and no doubt counts the number of treatments and spa owners are required to pay the laser company.
There are many reputable spas promoting this garbage because the laser salesperson waved dollars figures in their eyes and they signed a contract. I would never go to any spa for ANY treatment if they are offing this Zeron laser scam.
I end-up paying $400.to a Orlando down-town Dr Serrao for this scam in the begining they told me consultation is free, and its the best option for me to loose my bally fat, after taking one session, I foloow there instructions, I was almost sick for two days. When I told Dr Serrao about my body condition, He said we can not do any thing, They took about $ 400. from my money and advised me that they will send me a check through mail soon. PPL should be aware of this scam. Before they get stuck paying money for nothing.
I hope you do get your money back. If not, consider yourself lucky it was only $400 as most people get taken for $3,000 or more.
I wonder if the feeling sick came from the claim that it also releases toxins. I once took a package of supplements from GNC that I was supposed to take for about two weeks – I think – it was to cleanse my systems and I was extremely ill from them. They said that it would go away but I didn’t have the time to feel sick to my stomach like I had motion sickness all day.
People often don’t feel well when doing a cleanse making you long for your toxins. The worst is the first few days, then things settle down.
Unless you have a lawyer who is a relative and will work for free, it will cost a lot more to ever get to court. Just let people know to stay clear.
Small claims court is about 35.00. Everyone should use it if they think they have been scamed.
ZERONA IS A SCAM I DID NOT LOOSE ANY INCHES WHAT SO EVER, AND ALL I DID WAS WASTE MY TIME AND MONEY! THEY WERE OFFERING ME MORE SESSIONS BUT I DISREGARDED IT AND DEMAND MY MONEY BACK!
I hope you got your money back as most people don’t get anything.
I spent a good bit of money on 9 laser sessions, including the *add on – work out sessions, dry sauna sessions, foot detox sessions, minerals and herbs and more. I gained weight! Their measurements were “generous” on the tail end to show a total overall body inch loss of 3.3 inches…big whoop….
I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau here in Houston, because when you put something on your website that says, and I quote – “Patients treated with ZERONA can expect to lose 2-7 pant/dress sizes and from 2 to 20 inches from their hips, waist, arms, legs, buttocks and abdominal area.” – and your claim does not deliver – in Texas, that is called Deceptive Trade.
I intend to get a full refund, if I have to file a small claims court petition under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Hopefully, the BBB will talk some sense into them.
They set my expectation in the advertising, and they failed to meet it. Period. I deserve a refund.
The best of luck to you. Zerona has to be made accountable when their procedure doesn’t work. The spas also like to measure you in 20 different places so if you lost 1/4″ on each of them, you would have lost 5″. Who would notice 1/4″ off their waist or ony other one place on their body? I too went through the “extras” that the spa used to pad the bill.
Let me know how it goes.
What place in Houston was advertised that way!?
I work for a physicians office and we guarantee patient’s will lose 3.5 inches in 6 sessions from waist, hips, and thighs! I thought Zerona was giving us misleading claims. This is OUT OF CONTROL!
Good for you! I hope you get it back!!!
Small claims court! Very inexpensive. If enough people take them to small claims court this scam will stop.
Man, I am furious! This is the worst I have ever been ripped off in my life! 9 treatments, $3000 later and no perceivable inches lost! No one sees a difference in me! Their whole method of measuring you is a complete con. By measuring in several different places, and pulling the tape tighter on the final measurement/session and then adding up all the figures they make it look as if I lost 5 inches and yet my weight is the same and the circumference around my waist is also the same as before I started treatment! Nuts! Surely there has to be a class action lawsuit against this company? I went to premier Fitness in Milton, Onatrio in Canada for my treatment and just had my last session last week. They were indignant and rude to me when I informed them that I don’t believe that their treatment worked. What should I do? I cannot afford a lawyer
I’m in the same boat as you. The only thing you can do is tell as many people as possible and warn them to stay away from this so called treatment.
If you are so confident Zerona did not work for many(most of) clients. Why dont you investigate the “FDA”. You can mail the complain to FDA and make public site to collect the large numbers of failure cases. The lawers are waiting to help you since they are always looking for huge case to make profit. If you win, you can get big compensation…
I think someone should give it a try. I don’t live in the USA.
Pharmaceutical Companies control the FDA.
The FDA approved Zerona because it promotes a healthier and improved lifestyle. They would never approve something cosmetic/plastic surgery equivalent/something that works.
Look at GMO’s in the American Food Supply…I think we knew that the FDA was bought out a long time ago.
If Zerona works as well as claimed, these clinics should not have a problem refunding the small percentage(5%) of patients who see no results(?). My girlfriend is seriously considering Zerona, and she isn’t the type who sits down to do any research before spending money. I think I’ve read enough negative testimonials to at least make me cautious, if not avoid it altogether. I’d rather spend $3K on a vacation.
Smart move. I also believe the percentage of people who don’t get very good results is a lot higher than 5%.
Here’s what you do to get your $$$ back if you put it on a credit card. Just call up your bank and tell them you were not satisfied with the proceedure and give your reasons…bad service what ever. Credit cards will always side with you the customer, and put the money right back into your account if you do not get what you expecte to pay for. Your bank will fax or email you the forms. I don’t know why more people don’t just do this. It also works if you had something stolen from you as well. Hope this helps…do it all the time!
Thanks for the tip. I have always found that CC companies take a hands off approach when there is an issue between a customer and a company and leave the customer to fend for themselves.
You might as well give it a try.
I also went for Zerona at Promenade mall (markham , thornhill) and after 12 treatments I did not loose anything. I am unhappy with this spa treatment center (liliane spa). People should be warned of this scam!
Tell everyone you come across who is even thinking about this useless procedure.
I would like to agree with all of you that the science behind Zerona is not true. I can say this officially, because I work in an office where Zerona has not been very sucessful (after dozens of patients). Most patients signed up for 6 sessions and our office guaranteed 3.5 inches from the waist, hips, and theighs – if not, you would get 6 more sessions free. Alot of patients only lost right around three, both after 6 and after 12. I give the credit to these inches based on the adjustments to lifestyle that are made. It is alot of money and it is a big time commitment. I was very skeptical, but hopeful. I am a size 8, 26 year old woman, who doesn’t work out nearly as much as she should, and is not obese – but definitely weighs about 10 more pounds than I want to. I figured that I would be the IDEAL candidate!
I did 13 treatments (we all get to demo it for free for completing our Zerona training). Don’t ask me WHY I did 13, it just happened that way. I lost 3.8 inches from my neck to my knees. A month after the Zerona ended, I continued the same water regiment, no alcohol, no caffeine, and walking 30 minutes a day…and SURPRISE, I continued to lose weight. Diet and exercise people. Beware of lipo, for the high cost and chance of fat embolisms.
The way to get rid of unwanted body fat is diet and exercise. I assure you, most people who have had success with Zerona are a result of cutting out toxins, increasing water, wearing compression garments, and moderate exercise…I strongly believe that the technology of Zerona has nothing more than a placebo effect on people’s minds. We did another 6 treatments with all four diodes focused right on my inner thighs (believe me there’s plenty to get there – I can’t remember a time in my life where my thighs DIDN’T rub together). After six treatments, there was no change or sucess whatsoever.
The FDA is a scam itself that is fueled by lobbyists, private investors, and run by the Pharmaceutical company. The FDA would never approve anything plastic surgery equivalent, magical, or anything like that. The FDA approved it because it promotes a healthy lifestyle.
The company that owns them – SBMI, are a total joke and unprofessional all around. I have had to leave about 20 messages for our billing person and sales rep to get a call back…I would warn offices and physicians who think that this is an opportunity to increase cash flow in their office. The machine costs a fortune and unless you do about 10 patients a month (at 9 sessions a piece) you will only lose money. I feel so bad for my bosses and the lovely guy who is running our Zerona machine.
Best of luck to all of you and buyer beware!
Also, I should beware you of deals that seem too good to be true. 10 years ago, when the first generation of the Zerona machine came out – they gave the option for a physician or spa to buy a Zerona machine (which means 10 years down the line, they can charge whatever they want for the outdated machine.) I have heard due to the age and lack of updates, that these machines are even more ineffective!!! 600 dollars for 6 sessions, may sound good, but be an entirely bigger ripoff given how outdated the machine is!
If you see a Zerona machine coming at you – run the other way!!
They always put you on a very strict diet, take diuretics and exercise by walking 30 minutes every day. I think the diet and exercise is really behind any weight loss. The Zerona laser is a total waste of everyones time and money. Thanks for your input.
out of all the comments i read about this product you make the greatest statement so far. it seems that most of people who say that it does not work are not doing anything to change in their eating habits. i don’t know how the company advertises the product because i recently purchased 3 treatments for 700. i looked around for the normal prices and i think i got a pretty good deal. I also do believe the whole placebo effect so i don’t expect much from it, but i have changed my eating habits and been exercising for the last 3 years. Ive lost a significant amount of weight and of course i do still eat some junk food, so I personally agree with eating healthy and regular exercise and a way of life towards weight loss. Anything that promises rapid results or you never have to workout is totally bogus and seriously dangerous if you do not educate yourself on these treatments, pills, procedures or however they want to advertise the product. But while i have been changing my habits to eat better and exercising safely i also tried some of these products and while they only work for a short time(because their suppose to) i never stick with them because my progressing lifestyle is what actually contributes to my weight loss. I’m trying this treatment for 2 reasons: 1) i think i was given a good discount(please tell me if I’m wrong :/) and 2) i look at it as any other product that will give me some better”fast” results while I’m still eating healthy and exercising. Thank you everyone for your input.
Right now its advertised on wagjag.com in my city for $199 for 3 treatments.
They are charging $199 too much. It’s not even worth what you may have to pay for parking to go for the treatments.
Sure you got a great deal, but you’re basically paying for 40 minutes of nap time someplace other than your own bed.
I purchased 9 treatments for $1800 (Broomfield, CO). Originally $2500 but the ad said I would get $500 off (basically 3 free). The sales gal gave me another $200 off since I signed up that day. Biggest $1800 down the drain. See my post below (June 3)
Sorry to hear it. I hope others read your reply and take your advice.
Hi guys,
I just finished 3 treatments and guess what I didn’t lost a single pound! And that’s the reason I began searching in google today and I was lead here. Well, to late aah? The reason I didn’t do research from the beginning is because I so wanted to believe this is true, for god sakes some of the best shows like the doctors made advertisements for it so I thought this is for real.
What I don’t understand though, is that some people indeed claim they got results. Therefore, do you believe it works for people and it doesn’t work for others?? In this case people have the right to be aware that it may indeed not work for a lot of people.
I’m in Ontario Canada and I still have 6 treatments to go, but after reading this, I’m really sad and I don’t feel motivated any more. It would have been better spending this money on the dentist to make my teeth look better instead of this BS!
It may work on some people but it doesn’t work on a lot of people. There is no way to tell before hand. The people doing your treatments may put you on a very low calorie protein diet to show that the Zerona “treatment” works, but it is just the diet. Protein diets lose a lot of water weight, so as soon as you go off them you’ll gain a lot of the weight almost over night.
Man this is sad! I really thought I finally got the solution to get rid of my stubborn belly fat. But apparently, like you guys said it’s too good to be true
It’s $3000! not any ordinary amount.
This has been promoted on a lot of TV shows and many people believe these “doctors”. Their shows are for entertainment purposes only.
I am sorry that you all are having bad results. We just got our machine in and after 8 people used it their combined loss was 50 inches. Divide 50 by 8 and that’s 6 and 1half inches over all per person. For laying on a bed and not doing anything thats pretty darn good. We did not ask them to go on a diet or change anything they were already doing.
People running this require you to walk 30 minutes a day, drink gallons of water and they put you on diuretics. Averages mean nothing. One 300lb person may loose a lot and the rest close to nothing. They claim 3 inches for a person. Well 1/4 inch over 20 places one your body means they will be no real noticable difference.
Save your money and avoid Zerona.
All these burn fat quickly and lose weight in no time schemes are directed towards people who are too lazy to do what it really takes to lose weight. There is no magic bullet. You *may* be able to lose some fat with artificial methods but be rest assured that your fat will return if you are inactive and eat unhealthy foods.
Here is my proven method of losing weight:
1) Lots of exercise. No, I don’t mean walking on a thread mill for 10 minutes twice a week. I mean serious exercise, like running a couple of miles 3 times a week, doing lots of weights (and doing it properly – most people don’t know how), plus engaging in some regular sporting activity.
2) Don’t eat yourself to death. Eat just enough to not feel hungry after a meal. Stop eating before feeling full.
3) Eat healthy. Stay away from fat and go easy on sweets. Only eat fast food if there is no other way.
4) Drink healthy. No beer, no pop, no energy drinks. Drink wine but with moderation. Half a glass of red wine at once should be enough.
The above guarantees noticeable weight loss within two months. There is a catch: you can’t stop. You have to keep the it up, otherwise you’ll just get fat again.
True enough. But many people have joint pain and are unable to run 20 yards let alone a couple of miles.
No beer? Commie bastard.
I was ready to have my “free” consultation in a few days. Forget it! I’ve read enough credible comments that will make me run from that idea! Thanks to all!
Way to go (NOT) Lila!
I spent a lot of money for the treatments in Mademoiselle Fitness in London-Ontario. I drank 2l of water every day, took the pills and lived very healthy. I did measurement before and after 6 treatments it was still the same- not 1 cm on my belly. My advise is: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Right you are. Too many people are having their money taken with little or no results.
Well, thanks for saving me the money. I was just doing a little research into it, found this forum and now I realize I better just stick to the tough road for weight loss. Thanks guys.
I hate to say it, but diet and exercise are the only thing that works. Or liposuction of course. These are the only ways to get rid of fat.
I’ve been reading and researching fat burning alternatives. Unfortunately, liposuction is the only way to get rid of fat without diet and exercise. I would love to have lipo but I’m afraid to have general surgery. I work with plastic surgeons everyday and they are great guys. Just make sure if you have any plastic surgical procedure done, that it is a plastic surgeon and that he/she is board certified.
Thanks for your advice.
I just watched the Dr Oz show on Zerona, looks too good to be true and probably is. This reminds me of the Lipo Dissolve scam, that one cost be around $3,000 had to stop after the second treatment because of sores and pain, never lost an inch. They professed to have a money back policy if you could not tolerate procedure, NOT – they all went out of business. Another thing to beware of is if they get you to use their credit card company, for which you cannot protest the charges, even though you didn’t get the product. Shame on these programs like Dr Oz, Rachel Ray, and The Doctors that people listen to and trust for offering up these scams to the public. I think I will sit this one out and save my money – back to the gym!
The doctor TV shows are more for entertainment than education. Glad you didn’t spend the $3K. For all the diet advice out there, it comes down to eat less, move more.
If you really feel like you got taken, you should report them to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They investigate scams.
I think Zerona will be for some legal problems soon enough. Too many people are being ripped off.
@KATHY – The FDA will approve anything that does not harm people. It’s not a confirmation of efficacy.
This is a scam.
This is a rip off I’ve spent 2000 dollars. Please run if you see zerona
Sorry to hear it. Thanks for the warning!
Im very disappointed, today I finished my 6th session and I didnt lose anything, im taking “curva” pills that he doctor indicated to me I spent my hard earned money & on 6 treatments that were a complete filmy, doctor altered my measurements to make it look like I lost inches, the doctor pressed the tape really hard to look like it was smaller than the first measurements were different! ZERONA IS A PURE SCAM!
With this money I could get one month of ” bistro MD” delivered to my house ( what really works) and lost many pounds!
Zerona is pure Scam people!
You said it!
HMM, I just paid 200.00 for 3 treatments from Wag-Jag. It sounded so good, I could not resist. So, I guess I will be going for the treatment and hope for the best after hearing all the mostly negative comments. Very few positive ones. Well, I guess you just have to live and learn.
Even if it did work for you, you will not likely see any difference after only 3 treatments. Seems like a loss leader ad – bring you in then try to get you with more “treatments”.
OK – I’m another in the unhappy world. After 9 treatments I saw and felt no results. Of course they ‘showed’ that I lost a total of 5.75″. 2 of those in areas where the laser never touched. And 1.5 on my waste. My waist has never been 31″ (their measurement) so I’m sure they doctored the numbers. My waist is the smallest part of my body and size 6 pants are usually to big in the waist. my waist has always been 28-29″. I should have been better at keeping an eye on what they wrote down in the beginning but she wrote it on a scratch pad and all of the numbers were transferred to a more formal looking document at the final. At the after measurement, she measured my thighs at both 23.5 then noticed no loss (my only target area) and crossed off the .5 show a total loss of 1″. Anyway I had been measuring myself and didn’t have those results. I’m an active petite size 6 just looking to lose in those stubborn areas. I think the people who this seems to be working for are heavier and perhaps the water and walking is a lifestyle change (it wasn’t for me), which without the laser would result in the same. I’d say RUN to anyone who is thinking about trying this. I was skeptical but I couldn’t imagine they would charge for something that really didn’t work. I might file a BBB complaint. Boy was I scammed. Lesson learned!
Have a friend measure you before and keeping the results is a great way to see if they are measuring you with a slackened tape measure before and a tightened one later. Better to avoid Zeronia in the first place.
Another comment of much the same. Spent my time and money on this Zerona light show and no fat or pounds came off. It seems to me that people are taking the supplement they give you and get motivated to go to the gym and diet while in treatment and there is the loss that some are experiencing. Yes waist of money and more importantly my time.
Sorry to hear it David. Thanks for letting everyone know your experience.
My Zerona appointment is at 1:15 pm today. I just read all of your posts at 12:15 pm today. I cancelled my appointment with the Chiropractor selling this. My first big clue was that it was a chiropractor. They are great at what they do (manipulating the body) but often get caught up in selling silly things that doesnt work. My brother in law is a chiropractor. He’s always selling some kind of herb to rub on your knee or coloidal silver to kill pneumonia. Its this quackery that gives their trade a bad reputation.
C’mon Chiropractors. Just do what you went to school for. I dont go to my dentist for botox.
Thanks all of you who took time to post this inf. up here. There are four of us who were getting ready to try this out! I was the test subject. Not now!
Ill stick with P90-x Ive had fantastik results with it over the past year and a half. Im not as ripped as the people in the program, but i look a hell of a lot better than I did. And it didnt cost $1800. Oh and I can run five miles anytime I feel like it. Cant get that with a laser.
Thanks for your comments and glad you cancelled the Zerona “treatments”.
I investigated this after seeing it on the local morning show. No way will I even consider it now.
Thanks everybody.
Way to go, NOT!
i’m on the hcg diet and was considering to combine it with Zerona to get faster result. I’m getting married in few months and i want to look my absolute best. The doctor recommend that I do the above combination but after reading these posts, i’m definitely not doing the Z.
Good move, use your money for the wedding.
I went for a consultation for a Zerona package. Once I was there the owner of the shop said Zerona would not work for me because most of my fat was cellulite.
You got lucky and saved a lot of money. Most consultants take everyone, often for a ride.
And don’t waste your money on the HCG diet injections – scam again! Thanks for your warning on the laser, I was thinking of trying but am on high alert re: expensive scams after HCG – although I got off cheap compared to Zerona. Sorry you had to go through it:(
Thanks for your input. I could have gotten all upset but I wrote about my experience in order to help others avoid this costly scam. As of today over 5,500 people have read this post and if 5,000 of them decided not to spend $3,000 then I’ve helped divert $21 million from Zerona.
Beware Zerona pushers at Premier Fitness in Oshawa, ON… Their Zerona Rep tells you that Zerona will get rid of fat & cellulite in areas that the treatment isn’t even directed at. Nice person, but what a scammer!!! I found a promotion on WagJag for 3 Zerona treatments for $199.00. So I called Premier (who was offering the deal) just to find out how many treatments I would need to see results, & additional costs, time Etc… She would not tell me anything over the phone & told me to come in for a free consultation. In the consultation she was distracted with being so busy, coming in & out of the room, she promised me that Zerona was the answer to my cellulite problems, & me being desperate as summer was here believed her. She had me quickly sign a contract without giving me time to read the fine print, which basically states they do not have to stand by their service, they don’t guarantee results & are not responsible for any promises their reps make… She quickly ran my credit card through and there began the biggest waste of time & money of my entire life. I have also been dieting at the same time and losing weight – any inches lost – I attribute to that. I was looking for something to do what weight loss & exercise could not take care of. Very agrivated!!! I spoke with the Owner after the first 3 visits and asked if I could just get the portion back for the cost above the $199 wagjag deal and she basically said too bad you signed a contract stating you could not get your money back. So I invite everyone and anyone to take to facbook and any blog you can find & shut this Zerona BS down. These people take advantage of other’s desperate desire to get in shape & be healthy. All the while, padding their own pockets – knowing that their promises are overstated at best and providing people with false hope, not to mention draining people’s bank accounts. How do people sleep at night. I know, they lie to themselves – just as they do to others, I think they really believe that they are helping people!? They need to get their heads out of their #!?s & try for once to see past the $$. Please, let’s not let another person suffer the time & $ loss.
Thanks for your story Nancy. Many spas offer Zerona as an additional revenue stream, although when people get ripped off with Zerona they will never go back to that spa for any other treatments. I hope many of these spas just go out of business.
There seems to be a group of individuals with whom this procedure has not worked on and that is not the fault of the laser, nor is the research. The responsibility falls on the doctors to set the patients up on the laser with accordance to their BMI measurement. In our office, we have had full satisfaction from people who have gone through the procedure because we only allow people who qualify through and reject those that will not be successful. Just make sure you are not consulting with a nurse in a money hungry office and you actually get to speak with the doctor to ensure success. The doctors know a whole lot more about your body, how to move lymph from an exercise, diet, and manual standpoint than the nurses. Our office does offer a money back guarantee if we are not successful so ask questions and good luck. Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience Bob, not every office is the same. We work with you every step of the way and we don’t mess around with fads like the HCG diet. The tape that we use hooks into itself so that there is no pulling or tightening on measurements. To be clear, Zerona does not build muscles, it reduces the volume of fat cells. Most of the fat which decreases in size is the portion that the laser circulates over, however, there is a systemic loss in size as the laser also stimulates the KREB cycle.
You seemed to be disappointed after 3 treatments of not seeing results and again, the doctor should have informed you that you actually would start seeing results at the end of your 6th treatment, again, with respect to your BMI. There is a lot that goes into understanding the science of how cols lasers work and its apparent that you went to a place that didn’t care as much for you as they did for themselves. People can’t get them at no cost, there is a huge price tag attached so most places rent the units, renting the unit means that the usage of Zerona is controlled, we own our unit so we have more freedom with it. The questions to ask are, will I be consulting with the doctor? how many people/experience you have with the laser and do you own or rent your laser. I hope this helps, if your in the North Bay, please feel free to contact Downtown Zerona Laser and we will ensure that you have appropriate satisfaction and results.
A couple of problems with your comment. 1) According to your web site, Dr. Darius Bunyad is a Chiropractor, so hence is not a real doctor. And 2) “Downtown Zerona Laser is located inside Wellness Chiropractic at 635 5th Street in Santa Rosa” is very far from North Bay. Though lengthy, this is nothing but a spam comment so your URL has been removed.
I can’t believe all this negativity? I’m going thru the treatments now and only had 2 sessions and already feel and see a difference! You can’t treat this like a miracle and like actual liposuction…the light doesnt “melt” your fat, it opens the pores of the fat cells to release it to the lymph nodes at the top of your legs, it’s up to you to do the exercise during the treatments to get rid of the fat from the cells. As far as you people saying they take 20 measurements, they only take measurements below rib cage, waist, belly button, hips, right thigh and left thigh….and they use a tape measure that has an anchor that hooks into the unit so that it is not loose or pulled too tight.
As far as what I am doing: I’ve stuck to a strict diet of 1200-1400 calories (I’m 5’3″, office job – so I sit all day) and I’m eating lots of vegetables. I was told to exercise for 40 mins each day, not intense exercise either (7 days a week for 4 weeks–1 week before, 2 weeks of treatment, 1 week after up til the followup). I am making sure I don’t waste my money, so I have been waking up 20 mins early just to get exercise in the morning (plus it wakes me up since I cant have coffee!) and I do my 40 mins in the evening. My exercise ranges from kickboxing, to a 40 minute walk while adding “step ups” on a bench, lunges, squats, sprints, etc. along the walk, or an elliptical workout. I am in shape, I did bootcamp classes for a year and a half prior to this but I couldn’t lose my gut. I doubt that my success so far is from the 60 mins total exercise I’ve been doing because I did the 1 hour bootcamp classes prior to this and was at a standstill. I’m also drinking over a gallon of water (I normally drink 5-6 liters anyway) and taking the supplement. Also I was told NO COFFEE OR CAFFEINE or anything besides water really. So i’m sticking to what I am told.
I still have 4 treatments left, I dont expect a 6 pack out of this but I definitely see my middle shrinking. If you’re all doing what you are told, then maybe it’s like others are saying “It doesn’t work for everyone”….just be honest about it, like I said, it’s not going to just melt the fat, if the doctor told you that he was telling you a lie!!
I agree with you completely. If you follow the directions, this WORKS!
If it worked for you then that’s great, but for many it does not.
I have to tell you…this procedure totally worked for me. I followed instructions TO THE TEE. NO ALCOHOL – 70 0Z OF WATER – 40 MINUTES OF CARDIO A DAY – AND WATCHED WHAT I ATE. My husband sees a huge difference in me. I have only had 5 sessions so far. I bought a package of 9 for $2000, and I am THRILLED with the results. I do not work for, nor am I any way involved with the Zerona company. I have not been re-measured yet, but my jeans fit much better. My Dr. told me the procedure is only meant for patients with “problem areas” who have 15 lbs. or less to lose. I think the Curva supplements have a lot to do with the success of the laser, but I really don’t care. This is working for me and I will recommend it to my clients. I am a personal trainer and I think this is a great new tool for people who exercise regularly, but can’t seem to achieve the body that they want.
If you watched what you ate and did 40 minutes of cardio a day you would lose weight regardless of Zerona. There are also many places like spas that offer Zerona and there are in it just for the money.
Respectfully, I have to disagree. I am a personal trainer and work out every day anyway. I will say that cutting out Alcohol may have played a part, but I have lost inches in my thighs which has always been a problem area.
I am not saying this procedure is for everyone, but it worked for me.
I guess we will have to “agree to disagree!”
Have a wonderful day!
Well what can you say when my sister and I did it at the same time and are results were a big fat zero!!!!!!! Dont be a fool and do this treatment.
Sorry to hear it Donna. Too many people are being taken by this garbage “procedure”.
Im doing the treatment now – 4th session is on weds. They say i will notice the difference after 5 sessions. They gave me two tubs of cleanser and a healthy menu diet. So far I think I’m still the same as when I started.
They always push the “extras”. Qut after 5 treatments if you can if you don’t see the results you were told to expect.
Today is my 5th session. Infact, i feel heavier.
I can’t wait to see my measurements.
Let me know how it went.
OK, the zerona failed. i truly believe it is a placebo. The diest plan they put me on is suppose to make me lose the weight. the doctor is giving me a partial refund. So I say OUCH! Let me say it again “OUCH!!”
Lucky you got some of your money back.
After 9 visits, I lost 3.5 inches-all in my KNEES! Isn’t that ludicrous! And that is because they required exercise, so I walked the beach 25-35 miles each week. This such a scam! I sent a complaint letter and here’s just a taste of the excuses and ambiguties: “Since opening, our clients have experienced a great success rate when clients have either met or exceeded the national average of 3.5 inches lost.” duh…what the h-ll does that mean….? I plan to deal with the Better Business Bureau, chiropractic associations and small claims courts. Hopefully someone will start a class action suit!
Good luck to you. Zerona is taking people for a lot of money and providing a B.S. “treatment”.
I personally know a doctor who has a Zerona Laser and I have messed with the machine myself. I put the lasers on my hand for like 30 mins and it does nothing. It’s a huge scam only created so that these bunk wellness doctors can play real doctor. The reason why it is not exposed is they developers work like a mafia. Recently a co-creator of the Zerona wanted to go off and start his own Zerona a part from his partner and he was found murdered a week later.
This is a scam and the public should figure it out. The buttons that start the machine just stays start and stop. There is no adjusting the lasers? WHEN THE HELL DOES A “Low Level Laser” DO ANYTHING FOR YOUR SKIN.
Thank you for publishing this. Saved me from wasting some $$$.
Glad to hear you stayed away from ths scam.
I have done 8 treatments and because of health issues decided not to take the pills not knowing exactly what they do. I took a month break in the treatments because of a bad back and have just restarted. The 8 treatments helped me lose 6 lbs and a few inches. I have not excersiced or changed my eating habits. I’m not sure that everyone knows you are not suppose to have coffee or alcohol during the treatments and a week after. I did abide by that which I’m sure helps the weight loss since I tend to munch after a couple glasses or wine. I found the treatments do not work immediately – it took a week to 14 days from the start to lose the weight. My friend also did it for 12 treatments and lost 8 lbs and 8 inches. I’m happy so far with the results.
Glad it worked for you.
Thanks for publishing this. I was considering buying 9 Zerona treatments for $999 from wagjag, but after reading the comments on this forum….FORGET IT!!!
Glad you saved your money.
PS: Hope you’re sleeping better now Bob knowing you’re at least saving other people from falling for this scam. Also, don’t feel foolish, even intelligent people get scammed some times!
That’s one of the problems with trying something so new that not many others have tried it first. At least others will get the info before trying Zerona.
Lucky and smart are those who read these reviewes before being scammed by Zerona. I made a costly mistake and lost time and money and sleep over this nonsence treatment. Do Bikhram Yoga instead, it works!
Glad you found something that works for you. And Zeron is sure not it!
well, i researched a little late but i still have a chance not to waist the rest of money. Today it came to my mind to check the complaint and i have already spent $500.00 for only 3 treatment consulting with case manager and have not seen the chiaropractor, nor even they mentioned that there is a Dr. here in charge. Today i was supposed to let them know if i agreed to pay $2800.00 more for 12 more treatment. I think maybe half inch i lost from two parts of body and i was exercising anyway and eating organic and healthy. Thanks for all your comments that made me confident not to go through further with rip off and for the money i have paid i know every experience cost something, that was my share to keep people employed!! I know why i researched 10 days late because i trusted the TV show that ZERONA was introduced.
Great that you didn’t go through with the their “program”. Sometimes just changing eatting patterns can help people lose weight. Thanks.
THINK TWICE BEFORE USING ZERONA FROM PREMIER MEDICAL SPA OR PREMIER FITNESS CLUBS
I am a past employee of Premier Medical Spa. I am here to inform you of the business dealings of this company.
Please take care when looking to have alternative procedures done. Premier Medical Spa is run by a woman named Giselle Cardillo. She cares about the mighty dollar over the clients’ health, unfortunately. Staff is forced to meet a monthly sales quota, told that if the quota is not met, then terminating positions is her next step. Everything has to go through her first; if you meet with a potential client, you must call her and confirm pricing, explain the client, etc. If the client has medical reasons that define an absolute inability to undergo treatments offered by the spa, she informs the staff to sell the package nonetheless and get the contract signed. The contract conveniently states that all purchases are non-refundable. Giselle also forces staff to sell treatments to people when they know it is not the right treatment for them and they will see no results. Premier gets their money, Giselle continues to live in her 2.5 million dollar home in Brampton, and the client loses out. Period. Attempts by clients to retrieve their money is ignored. Always. You also do not see a doctor in consultations. You see someone without medical training and it is them that you are trusting with your health background.
Please think twice before putting your life in the hands of Giselle Cardillo. She is not a doctor, just a woman who wants to make as much money as possible by means of running a dirty business.
For anyone pondering the idea of applying; please note that payroll is less than adequate (constant pay discrepencies, late pay, refused pay, etc), the promise of perks are falsified, and within just a month or two you will feel that you have sold your soul to the devil. Giselle is that devil..
Zerona is very often run my people who own spas as there is nothing to really know to operate the machine other than push a button. From my experience and that of countless others you might as well shine a flashlight on yourself to lose weight. Thanks for the insight.
