A Warm Bath and Your Sleep

Woman relaxing in a warm bath

A great way to relax in the evening is soaking in a warm bath. Read a book (a paperback works best, a hardcover of Webster’s dictionary the worst), listen to some music or a book on CD. Try a bubble bath, Epson salts, a few drops of an essential oil like lavender in the water.

Unless you are a doctor on call, turn the ringer off on your phone and let any calls go to your answering machine. If you don’t have a machine, so what. If it was important they’ll call back, if not, don’t worry about it. You probably just missed some telemarketing heathen selling carbonated, dehydrated water tablets, or electric cat food.

Soak for 20-30 minutes. Much more and the water will be going cold and it will start to stimulate you. If you want to soak longer, you have to add more hot water, but you’re only allowed to turn on the tap with your toes. Once you sit up you have to get out. (As per section C, paragraph 7b, of part 32; “Bath Etiquette and Procedures for Individuals and Mutants”, Barkly House, 1962).

A warm bath is a great way to help you relax and get a good night’s sleep.
